The position

As a Tax Manager you will be reporting to Senior Accounting and Tax Manager / Chief Accountant​​​​​​​ and will be in charge of:

• Participating in tax reporting and documenting all relevant tax matters, both internally within Novo Nordisk and externally in compliance with tax regulations and practices;
• Managing all tax audits, tax disputes, and other tax queries;
• Ensuring that issues are analyzed and optimized before any relevant business-driven decisions are executed in close cooperation with relevant functions;
• Training relevant employees to ensure a high quality of tax and transfer pricing understanding and reporting.

Each process indicated above includes the following job tasks:

• Monitoring changes in legislation, rules, and practices and timely implementation of tax changes into the company’s processes;
• Preparing tax returns on direct taxes (CIT, WHT, property, transport, and land taxes) and verifying VAT returns to determine and resolve potential tax risks, submitting tax returns to the tax authority;
• Managing tax audits, including external regular and complex audits and internal audits by different auditors, presenting the company’s methodological positions;
• Regularly consulting the finance team, business departments, and other functions on tax matters in regard to new initiatives and projects to identify potential tax risks and develop options to mitigate them;
• Conducting tax analysis and risk assessment prior to business decisions with financial impacts;
• Verifying contracts for finance risks;
• Executing transfer pricing, including planning, reporting, documentation, and compliance obligations;
• Providing methodological support on tax matters.

Requirements

• Higher education in finance, accounting, or tax;
• Tax compliance and advisory experience for multinational companies (pharma, FMCG) for 5-7 years;
• Deep knowledge of Russian tax legislation, including transfer pricing, accounting standards, and other related legislation areas (civil, labor, administrative, currency), and current practices on tax issues;
• Knowledge of international legislation is an advantage;
• Strong working knowledge of tax compliance processes, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions and give recommendations, and provide different options;
• Fluent English (written and spoken);
• Knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Excel, etc.);
