Local Chief Vehicle Engineer (Car Launch)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of new models of vehicles and derivative versions, from concept to production.
• Own overall vehicle system integration
• Plan, direct, and control engineering activities to ensure products meet program targets for timing, cost, quality, and performance.
• Manage engineering deliverables across the product development process (PDP) and ensure alignment across internal teams, suppliers, and engineering service partners.
• Oversee preparation and release of engineering documentation to support tooling, sourcing, validation, and production launch.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and market requirements.
• Manage engineering resources, program budgets, and team workload to achieve project milestones.
• Lead design reviews, program reviews, and technical discussions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Coach and develop engineering team members and support recruitment of technical talent.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: 15+ years of engineering experience in automotive with experience of vehicle launch
• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of combustion engine vehicles design (EV knowledge including battery packs, motors, controllers, and vehicle electronics is advantage)
• Leadership: 8–10 years of leadership experience managing cross-functional engineering teams and vehicle development programs.
• Development Lifecycle: Proven experience delivering products through the complete development lifecycle (concept → validation → production launch).
• Regulations: Familiarity with homologation requirements is preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced development environments.
• Language skills: Fluency in English or Chinese languages.
