My PhD research involved quantitative seismic imaging of CO2 injection at Sleipner, Norway, using Full waveform inversion (FWI), time lapse mode:
- Successfully applied waveform inversion to time lapse seismic data from Sleipner
- Estimated CO2 saturation and dissolution
- Optimized in-house inversion research code (preconditioning, regularization, etc)
- Developed reservoir physics code
- Applied Monte Carlo method to estimate parameter uncertainty

- Designed, set up and evaluated experiments for studying effects of intense laser pulses in the atmosphere
- Developed a dynamic spatial phase mask that controls filamentation of high intense laser pulses in air
- Showed that linear power partitioning is dominant at early filamentation stage using the phase mask
